To uphold these standards, stringent rules are applied to design, craftsmanship and comfortable fit. Using the best optical lenses that matches every customer’s requirement based on our deep experience in the field is our excellency. Accordingly, we determine the use of top-quality material, the latest technologies and a close observance of the latest international fashion trends.
In 1946, The Swiss man: JEAN MARCEL GAHAR established his first store in Downtown Cairo in the most prestigious zone; Talaat Harb street, prior to Cairo’s shopping and entertainment streets. The store was mainly specialized in eyewear & watches.
PARTNERSHIP WITH SABER AHMED IN 1957:
MARCEL GAHAR decided to form a partnership with SABER AHMED the optical & technical expert in the eyewear field.
RAUL GAHAR OPENS IN MARSEILLE (FRANCE) IN 1966:
RAUL GAHAR the son of Marcel opens the first optical store in Marseille (France).
MARCEL GAHAR GOES BACK TO FRANCE IN 1977
MARCEL GAHAR was getting old to maintain the business; therefore, SABER AHMED eventually became the store owner of the prestigious optical store.
Celebrities like Umm Kholthom and many others were such loyal customers to SABER AHMED. Likewise, local and international politicians were among his daily customers like King El-Sonosi (The last Libyan King).
AHMED SABER (The Son) JOINS IN 1987
AHMED SABER started to co-operate with his father to draw the store on another level along with the equivalent heritage and philosophy, but with a modernized vision. He started to introduce new eyewear brands with new trends and fashion line that were unkown in The Egyptian market. Additionally, he introduced new lenses with the state-of-the-art technology and machinery.
MOHANDESEEN STORE IN 1994
AHMED SABER decided to expand beyond Cairo’s center and into the new modern-fashion zone in Mohandeseen area.
After presenting his collection in many fashion shows, fashion magazines, events, TV…etc. AHMED took M. GAHAR OPTICS to a whole new level alongside a complete respect to our heritage and principles.
MORE STORES IN 2004
AHMED decided to expand M. GAHAR OPTICS network stores in Cairo and farther than Cairo. He started with Maadi, Heliopolis, Mokattam then Zamalek. Later, shopping malls like: City Stars, Dandy Mall…etc. Moreover, outside Cairo, as in Sharm El-Sheikh, Porto Marina, & Americana Plaza.
UNIQUE INDEPENDENT STORES
Currently, M. GAHAR stores are rooted in most of the prestigious zones in Cairo. We do not believe that opening stores in mega shopping malls will us give our unique services to our clients because we need to be as close as possible to our clients. Therefore, we believe that the stores in main, boutique size shopping malls and food courts are matching our services.
We Also believe that one good shop with high level of optical consultancy, well trained staff, unique customer service, trendy and up-to-date exclusive collection is quite sufficient.
More About M. GAHAR’s Vision
A Family-owned business and in the hands of the third generation. The vision has been in the eyewear business for more than 70 years. Operating from its main office and with its central lab in Mohandeseen (Giza, Egypt) under the leadership of the optical leader SABER AHMED (The Father) and he is still there to give a high and a unique spirit to the employees, the brothers: Ahmed, Ashraf & Hesham and the grandchildren Nouredeen & Zeina.
